I am so enthused to write this blog about fireworks as it is one of the most fascinating scenes we get to see on events, national and international alike, not to mention new year’s and on anniversaries among many other occasions to which they are deemed appropriate. it is also amazing how fireworks last a short while but remain forever in our memories. we will always talk about the couple that had fireworks on the engagement proposal, the awesome fireworks at the stadium at new years , but slowly we forget, as we don’t celebrate forever.
Many times in our spiritual life we have fireworks too. There comes a moment after the Sunday sermon and we firmly resolve to change an aspect of our lives, and in the examination of conscious a week later, nothing has changed. It is also interesting how the resolution at the start really had hopes and all our energies and efforts were geared to seeing the resolutions becoming a reality.
Often in the middle of the year, many people who had began keep fit programs are back to junk and how many people who had become faithful church goers have gone back into their old habits and most commonly a recovering alcoholic has gone back to his drinking habits. but on the big question: how do we keep this resolution while the fire keeps dying?
The solution is much simpler. The title of the blog. Fireworks.
“Be definite. Don’t let your resolutions be like a fireworks that sparkle a moment, to leave behind as hard reality a blackened, useless stub that one throws disgustedly away. ” ( St. Josemaria Escriva)
A common tip that I know is on doing annual checks, midway the year or quarterly or however you dim it appropriate, attaching a title of our lady to each quarter.
